The La Conner Institute of Performing Art heartily thanks the many members of the La Conner community and friends of music who helped to make the second "Manger pour le Piano II" fund raiser held July 18th an evening to remember. This event would not have been possible without the support and energy of the community - support from those who provided the various fundraising dinners and events and from those who purchased events in order to enjoy great food in great settings. Our goal to complete payment on the newly acquired Steinway which was generously partially donated by performing arts patron Edna Kilgore was achieved.

The highlight of the evening was a performance by international renowned concert pianist Jon Kimura Parker, a Vancouver native who appears frequently with major symphony orchestras throughout the world. He was joined by Aloysia Friedmann, the Artistic Director of the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival.

"Keys" of the new piano figuratively are still available for sale to support the endowment fund for costs associated with the maintenance and care of the instrument and can be acquired by contacting the Institute at www.laconnerarts.com or calling 360-840-9020. Price per key is $300 each.
